Phillis Wheatley

Phillis Wheatley was the first African-American author to publish a book of poetry. She was taken from Africa and sold into slavery. The family who bought her taught her to read and write, and encouraged her abilities in poetry. She died of pneumonia on Dec 5, 1784.

This water shuttle is a public-private partnership that takes passengers to/from The Seaport, East Boston, and North Station. It is free for employees of participating companies. There is a small charge for the general public.
